Petroleum and gas

All petroleum exploration and production activity in NSW must be conducted in accordance with a petroleum title issued under the Petroleum (Onshore) Act 1991.

A petroleum title gives holders exclusive rights to explore for, or produce petroleum (including conventional and coal seam gas) within the title area.
