Deputy Secretary, Regional Development and Programs
Chris leads more than 500 staff based across regional NSW responsible for leading key NSW Government regional recovery and development programs and initiatives including:
- Public Works Advisory who are managing the 2019-20 Bushfire Clean-up program, responsible for whole-of-government contracts supporting the State’s COVID response and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of once-in-a-generation infrastructure investments for regional communities;
- the Regional Development team including the Office of Regional Youth and Office of Regional Economic Development who support regional communities and industry through delivery of whole-of-state and place-based development programs and projects including to support investment attraction and job growth; and
- the Regional Programs team, Office of Drought Recovery and Grant Management Office who are responsible for the design, delivery and administration of programs to support regional recovery and development including the $1.7 billion Regional Growth Fund, $170m Drought Stimulus Package and $140m bushfire industry recovery programs.
Chris has worked in the NSW Government for 7 years and previously worked with the Commonwealth Government in international trade and investment and has also worked at one of Australia’s top-tier law firms.
