Brendan Nelson is the CEO of Regional Growth NSW Development Corporation (RGDC) which is charged driving economic growth and job creation in regional NSW through the delivery of Special Activation Precincts.
Brendan joined RGDC in 2019, following more than three years as Deputy Secretary at the Department of Planning and Environment and more than twenty-five years working across Australia and internationally.
Brendan has also been an active participant and leader within the Planning Institute of Australia where he was the National President for 4 years and was elevated as a Fellow in 2018.
Brendan’s management of significant resilience projects saw him named Queensland Planner of the year in 2011 and the inaugural Australian Planner of the Year in 2012. Brendan is passionate about delivering innovative, sustainable and bold solutions for the communities of regional NSW.
